Gary Woodall
Gary Woodall is a retired meteorologist, and worked for the National Weather Service for 34 years. He is a native of central Florida, and grew up not far from Cape Canaveral. Although he was a professional meteorologist, Gary has had a lifelong interest in space and the space program.
Gary’s medium is photography, specifically something called astrophotography. Astrophotography involves connecting a camera to a telescope and constructing images of the galaxies, nebulae, comets, and other objects in the night sky. For Gary, it’s a wonderful blend of “art meets techo-nerd”.
Astrophotography called out to Gary in the summer of 2020, when Comet NEOWISE passed through the inner solar system. Since then, Gary’s passion has been to seek out and document the amazing works of abstract art which have been created in our night sky.
