Cheryl Lovett
Cheryl is a self taught glass mosaic artist who is known for the tiny hand cut stained glass pieces in her art. Her love of mosaics started by making stepping stones for her garden using crushed tile and pottery. Frustrated with the unevenness of her work, she took a leap of faith and ordered 25 pounds of broken and end pieces of glass from a stained glass artist. Once she opened the box and saw all the beautiful colors, she knew immediately what she wanted to do. Cheryl didn’t know how to actually make mosaic art and now believes she should write a book on what NOT to do. Band-Aids became her friends.
Cheryl grew up in Dallas where she danced on an afternoon TV show hosted by Ron Chapman. She worked at Harrah's as a Blackjack dealer then switched gears and entered health care management for 25 years. Her mother was a self taught artist with two green thumbs and her father a cowboy that sang and played guitar. Cheryl inherited the green thumb from her mother and her father’s guitar that she plays with some difficulty.
