Gayle Walker.
As a child, Gayle’s favorite things were a tablet, pencils and crayons. She cannot recall a time when she was not drawing or painting on something. Her Grandmother allowed her to draw chalk murals on her side walk and after they had been admired, Gayle would have to scrub the walk with a broom and a pail of water.
Formal training included commercial art and illustration, mechanical drawing, and various art classes through college and workshops.
Using different mediums, Gayle paints from on location, sketches, photographs, and real life. She likes to paint historical scenes and portraits of people and animals. Gayle paints old houses, churches, barns, etc., in Cooke and surrounding counties and has sold many copies and originals.
