It was not until later in life that by visualizing art concepts presented in raw native mesquite wood that Roger's forte came to light.  This medium requires scouring vast acres of Texas ranch land to find one of a kind art objects in the raw. Each creation is crafted by hand, transforming the wood into bowls, animal forms, and other unique sculptures.

Roger's twelve plus years of work has won numerous awards.  His art has been placed in many homes across the nation. 

 

Memberships include the Texas Mesquite Association.  Gallery participations include Native Texas Crafts, Bowlegged Cowboy, and Kemp Center for the Arts.
